Trebor Pena visiting College Football Playoff semifinalist (report)

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena will take a Friday visit to Penn State, according to 247 Sports.

Pena entered the transfer portal on Tuesday after tallying 941 yards and nine touchdowns for the Orange last season. The redshirt-senior wanted more NIL money and had concerns about transfer quarterback Rickie Collins Jr., according to head coach Fran Brown, and decided to leave Syracuse.

Penn State was a team in need of wide receiver help last season with most of its pass-catching production coming from tight end Tyler Warren, a likely first-round pick in next week’s NFL Draft. The Nittany Lions’ leading returning receiver is redshirt-senior Liam Clifford, who recorded 286 yards and one touchdown last season.

Brown also said that Pena was looking increase his draft stock in 2025. Penn State made it to the Big Ten championship game and won two games in the College Football Playoff to make it to the CFP Semifinals last season.
