“I’m very excited,” CLC head coach Jim Russell said. “I think both kids are great kids with great character. They both play well at the high school level, and they had a huge impact on their high school team and within this community.”
Roseman and Tautges were All-Central Lakes Conference players as seniors. Roseman led the Warriors with a 17.9 scoring average on 51.1% shooting from the field and 41.4% shooting from 3-point. He also tallied 119 rebounds (5.2), 66 assists (2.9), 31 steals and 17 blocked shots.
“Korde is a phenomenal athlete,” Russell said. “I believe he has a lot to offer in the sense that he can shoot off screens and he can shoot off the dribble. He can handle the ball a little bit and he has decent size.
Tautges averaged 14.0 points, which was second on the team, and shot 41.5% from 3-point and 45.7% from the field. He recorded 110 rebounds (4.2), 43 assists (1.7) and 23 steals.
“Eli is a competitor,” Russell said. “Their whole family is in sports and when he steps on the court, he competes. I’m hoping that he brings that with him all the time and I hope that he can show other guys on the squad how to fight.”
Russell added the importance of Taugtes and Roseman being local kids.
“It’s great to have local kids,” Russell said. “I try to get local kids and it can be hard nowadays because kids want to leave home, which is understandable. Plus, these guys are both team players. They showed that in what they did at the high school level. (Brainerd head coach) Charlie (Schoeck) has done a great job of teaching them fundamentals. You have to have good fundamentals and expect both of them to bring that to the table and continue to get better. I also hope they can show some leadership.”

Schoeck is excited that Roseman and Tautges will be playing down the road from the high school.
“We’ve had guys who have gone on to play in college, but still being in Brainerd is a nice added bonus,” Schoeck said. “These guys have played together since elementary school. They have chemistry there and you were able to see that on the floor in high school. I’m really excited for the two of them to continue their basketball career. Coach Russell is getting a couple of good players.”
