Can Hubert Davis pull off a stunning recruiting win?
Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are still constructing their roster for the 2025-26 college basketball season as an important offseason is officially here. With some needs to fill, the Tar Heels have to find a way to get things back on track.
So far, UNC has landed four players in the transfer portal and have a three-man recruiting class coming in. But could they be adding more?
With North Carolina having some open spots, one former Duke commit is reportedly considering the Tar Heels among his new recruitment. Per Marcus Gutierrez, Shelton Henderson is considering some programs and could make a decision as early as Monday.
Henderson de-committed from Duke a few days ago and is considering Kentucky, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami and North Carolina.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound small forward hails from Bellaire, Texas, and is ranked No. 14 nationally, the No. 2 small forward, and No. 1 player in the state of Texas per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
As of now, Miami is rumored to be the favorite to land him as lead recruiter and former Duke assistant Jai Lucas is the new head coach there.
