South Carolina baseball legend Jackie Bradley, Jr. has a new gig. Following an 11-year career in Major League Baseball, the former Gamecocks will be joining ESPN as a college baseball analyst. The worldwide leader announced on Thursday that Bradley would work both as an in-game analyst and as a studio analyst.
Said Bradley, “I’m honored to join ESPN and can’t wait to get started covering the game that I love.” “College baseball has grown a ton since I was at South Carolina, and I hope I can contribute to the sport’s continued growth and popularity through our coverage of the student-athletes who give it their all.”
Bradley will be in the studio on Friday night as the Texas Longhorns host the Texas A&M Aggies. He will also make his in-game debut two weekends later for the Vanderbilt-Tennessee series. Bradley will return to Columbia to help call South Carolina-LSU in the Gamecocks’ final regular season series.

During his South Carolina baseball career, Jackie Bradley, Jr. was one of the best ever to wear garnet and black. A two-time College World Series national champion, he was the CWS Most Outstanding Player in 2010, made multiple All-SEC and All-American teams, and earned a first-round draft selection in the 2011 MLB Draft. Bradley has an argument as the best defensive outfielder in Gamecock history.
Though he never officially retired from baseball, Bradley hasn’t played at the Big League level since 2023. He spent eight full seasons with the Boston Red Sox and part of another in a return stint. He also had short runs with the Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Kansas City Royals. Most recently, he played with a New York Mets minor league affiliate in 2024. Bradley made the 2016 MLB All-Star Game, brought home a Gold Glove in 2018, and helped lead the Red Sox to the 2018 World Series title. He was the ALCS MVP en route to that 2018 championship and spent some time with the 2013 World Series squad, too.
