The 2025 NFL Draft is officially underway, with the first round wrapping up Thursday night ahead of Friday’s second and third rounds. While the first overall pick (Cam Ward) was hardly a surprise, the first night wasn’t without its big moves, highlighted by the Jacksonville Jaguars trading up to take Travis Hunter at No. 2.
The first round was also about who didn’t get drafted — namely, Shedeur Sanders, who wasn’t selected in the top 40 picks despite multiple QB-needy teams picking early in the second round. Check out the rest of the surprises from Night 1 here, and the draft order for Night 2 here.

How can I react to each pick in the Yahoo Sports app?
The Yahoo Sports app (available on Apple and Google) will enable fans to connect around the draft in real time.

Fans can also react to each pick in the draft with emojis. Reactions will now be enabled for both iOS and Android versions of the app, giving fans the opportunity to share a 🔥 if they agree with the pick, a 🤔 if they’re unsure about the pick, or a 😬 if they don’t like the pick.
Through the app’s new live activities feature, fans can also stay up-to-date on each pick in the draft even while their phones are locked.
