Jared Jones was the only LSU player to hit a homer in the game. He also had three RBIs to lead the team as well. Dalton Beck pinch hit and one two RBIs on his only hit of the game. No one from the Volunteers homered either. Three separate players had single RBIs, to lead to the team’s three runs.

Tennessee is now 34-8 overall this season after a loss in the first game. The team is also 12-7 against teams in the SEC. The club has now dropped three of its last four conference games after losing a series last week against Kentucky, two games to one. Tennessee won its mid-week game against Lipscomb but will need to get back on the winning side to avoid losing this series.

After a win in the first game, LSU has risen to 35-8 overall this season and 13-6 against teams in the conference. The team won two of three games last weekend in a conference series against Alabama and was routed in the middle of the week against Northwestern State 13-3 at home. This win was a sigh of relief as it tries to win this top-ten matchup.
