See where the Spartans landed in Joe Lunardi’s first batch of bracketology for next season
Michigan State basketball is currently projected to land a top four seed in next year’s NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.
The college basketball season is still six months away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start to look ahead to the 2025-26 campaign. That is the same mindset of Lunardi, who released his first batch of bracketology for next season on Tuesday.
Lunardi has Michigan State landing as the No. 4 seed in the East Region. The Spartans are projected to face No. 13 seed Miami (OH) in a first round matchup held in Buffalo, N.Y.
Michigan State is one of 12 teams from the Big Ten in Lunardi’s first batch of bracketology. Joining Michigan State is Purdue (No. 1 seed), Michigan (No. 2 seed), UCLA (No. 4 seed), USC (No. 4 seed), Ohio State (No. 5 seed), Wisconsin (No. 6 seed), Illinois (No. 7 seed), Oregon (No. 8 seed), Iowa (No. 9 seed), Maryland (No. 10 seed) and Indiana (No. 10 seed). Washington and Nebraska were two of the first four teams left outside of the field of 68.
Michigan State is coming off a strong season this past year, earning a No. 2 seed and reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans will again be near the top of the Big Ten as we enter next season.
