Many of the biggest landmarks of the college football offseason are in the rearview mirror, and in turn, the outlook for the 2025 Big Ten campaign is much clearer than it was just a few months ago. NFL Draft results and the stay-or-go decisions that preceded them are in, coaches completed the vast majority of their transfer portal work with the spring window’s closure, early enrollees are on campus and spring camp is closed.
Ohio State opens its national championship defense with an almost completely new starting lineup, and Oregon finds itself in a very similar boat with regard to its search for a second-straight Big Ten title. They might both have to get through Penn State, though, which loaded up on veteran talent this offseason.
A couple of other teams lower down the totem pole made splashes with their talent acquisition, too. Nebraska, for one, stocked up on offensive talent around Dylan Raiola while UCLA picked up the top transfer in the 2025 cycle in Nico Iamaleava.
