Memphis basketball will take part in the Baha Mar Hoops Championship during the 2025-26 season, according to college basketball insider Jeff Goodman.
The multi-team event is set for Nov. 20-21 at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas. Other teams reportedly in the four-team field include Purdue and Wake Forest, Goodman reported May 5. Each participant is guaranteed two games.
Specific matchups and scheduling information is expected to be released at a later date. Last season’s Baha Mar Hoops Championship field included St. John’s, Tennessee, Virginia and Baylor.
Purdue is coming off a Sweet 16 appearance and is expected to have All-Americans Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn back, as well as starter Fletcher Loyer.
Wake Forest won 21 games in 2024-25 but missed the postseason.
Tigers coach Penny Hardaway has become adept at getting Memphis into prominent, high-quality MTEs in recent seasons. The Maui Invitational worked wonders for the Tigers’ March Madness resumé. The Battle 4 Atlantis in 2023 got the program wins over Arkansas and Michigan.
Memphis’ 2025-26 non-conference schedule already includes home games against UNLV (Nov. 16), San Francisco (Nov. 8) and New Orleans at FedExForum, as well as road games against Ole Miss and Mississippi State (Dec. 20).
