It’s hard to believe 16 months have already passed since Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines hoisted the National Championship trophy on a magical night in Houston. A vast majority of the legendary 2023 team is now in the NFL, with two drafts having occurred since then.
With Harbaugh and Sherrone Moore ushering tons of prospects off to the pros, several former teammates were able to reunite on NFL rosters. Here are the guys from that team that are teammates once again.
Cincinnati Bengals: DT Kris Jenkins Jr. and LS William Wagner
Jenkins was the elder statesman of the defensive line in 2023. He was drafted by the Bengals in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and amassed 31 tackles and three sacks over 15 games as a rookie last season. Meanwhile, Wagner was an undrafted free agent signing this year. He and Cal Adomitis are the only two long-snappers currently listed on the Bengals roster. Wagner will hopefully snag the roster spot in camp.
Cleveland Browns: G Zak Zinter and DT Mason Graham
Cleveland has the most high-profile pairing of talent among former Wolverines. Zinter was arguably the most talented player in 2023 before his injury against Ohio State. The Browns liked what they saw on tape and selected him in the third round in 2024 despite the injury. Zinter isn’t projected to start for Cleveland this year, but is very much in the rotation.
Graham just went at No. 5 a couple weeks ago and is expected to immediately start on the defensive line. Zinter and Graham will likely have hoards of reps against each other in practice.
Green Bay Packers: WR Cornelius Johnson and LB Michael Barrett
This is the least likely pairing to make a roster together on this list. Johnson appeared on the practice squad for both the Chargers and Packers in 2024 before signing a futures contract in January. Barrett also was last seen on the practice squad. It would be a surprise if both were to make the roster in the fall, but stranger things have happened.
Los Angeles Chargers: G Karsen Barnhart and LB Junior Colson
Barnhart was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and has since carved out a nice role as a swing lineman. Colson, on the other hand, was a third-round pick and notched 28 total tackles in 218 snaps across 11 games as a rookie. He had a few rough moments as most rookies do, but turned it around near the end of the season. Colson is expected to start at linebacker this fall for Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter.
Los Angeles Rams: RB Blake Corum, DE Josaiah Stewart, and CB Josh Wallace
The Rams are the only team with more than two members of the championship team as of now. In consecutive years, Los Angeles has used a third-round pick on a Wolverine — they selected Corum 83rd overall in 2024 and Stewart 90th overall in 2025. Wallace was an undrafted free agent following the 2024 draft and signed three-year, $2.89 million contract.
Corum, Stewart, and Wallace are all expected to be rotational pieces for the Rams, but all should safely make the roster.
New York Jets: RB Donovan Edwards and DE Braiden McGregor
McGregor entered the 2024 draft and was one of the few to have that decision questioned. He rotated in frequently on the edge at Michigan but was by no means a starter. He went undrafted but was scooped up by the Jets, where he has made a name for himself. Like Wallace, he was able to secure a three-year, $2.85 million contract.
Edwards was also a UDFA this year and actually landed in a pretty good spot. The depth chart is not stocked particularly well at running back, so it would not be shocking if he makes the roster.
Philadelphia Eagles: T Myles Hinton and G Trevor Keegan
The only NFL team to reunite two Wolverines at the same position group, the Eagles will bring Hinton and Keegan back together on the offensive line. Keegan was arguably the most talented offensive lineman in 2023 for the Wolverines, while Hinton stepped up to be the best lineman in 2024. Philadelphia clearly has a type.
Neither are expected to start in 2025, but both should be featured prominently once some of the veterans start to retire in the near future.
Tennessee Titans: RB Kalel Mullings and LB Jaylen Harrell
Harrell was drafted in the seventh round of the 2024 draft and was primarily a special teams player as a rookie in Tennessee. He’ll be looking to climb up the depth chart on defense in 2025. Meanwhile, Mullings led the Wolverines’ backfield in 2024 and directly helped them beat USC and Ohio State in 2024. He was selected in the sixth round this April.
