Earning an automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division III National Tournament, East Texas Baptist University will host the Regional Tournament May 16 to 18.
It is ETBU’s third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and to host the regional.
ETBU is the No. 3 seed. Trinity University (Southern Collegiate Athletic Association Champion) is the No. 1 seed, Millsaps College (Southern Athletic Association – at-large selection) is the No. 2 seed, and Huntingdon College (Collegiate Conference of the South Champion) is the No. 4 seed. ETBU will face Millsaps at 2:30 p.m. May 16.
ETBU is ranked No. 21 in the Perfect Game poll and No. 28 in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) poll with a 28-14 record. After winning the ASC Tournament, the Tigers made the NCAA Tournament as an automatic qualifier. It is the program’s third NCAA Tournament appearance, hosting all its NCAA games except for the 2023 National Championship Tournament in Iowa. They have an NPI ranking of 39th at 56.873.
Trinity won the SCAC Tournament Championship over Concordia University Texas, 2-1, and is ranked No. 6 in D3baseball.com, No. 7 in the ABCA and No. 6 in the Perfect Game with a NPI ranking of No. 9 at 60.256. It is 36-7, has won 15 games in a row and defeated Concordia University-Texas twice, 7-6 and 2-1, in the SCAC Tournament Championship.
Millsaps earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament after the SAA Championship Tournament was cut short due to weather. It is 29-13, ranked No. 25 in the ABCA poll, receiving votes in the D3baseball.com poll, and has an NPI ranking of No. 23 at 58.093. This is the school’s ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history and first since 2015.
Huntingdon won the CCS Championship over Belhaven University, 3-1, for the automatic berth into the tournament. It is 22-19 but won four straight games in the CCS Tournament over Covenant, 9-8, LaGrange, 8-4, and Belhaven, twice, 2-1, and 3-1. The team is unranked in all three polls and has a No. 93 NPI at 53.859.
