Latest LSU baseball NCAA regional projections after big series win over Arkansas

BATON ROUGE — For the second time in three weeks, LSU baseball has collected another top-5 series victory, adding another notch to its robust postseason résumé belt.

The Tigers (40-12, 17-10 SEC), now the consensus No. 1 ranked team in college baseball in all the major polls, took two of three over now No. 4 Arkansas at Alex Box Stadium this past weekend and one of those was an eyebrow-raising 13-3, run-rule win in game two to clinch the series.

LSU now has two wins over Tennessee and Arkansas within the last three weeks and its RPI now sits at 7. The Tigers are currently third in the Southeastern Conference baseball standings behind Texas and the Razorbacks and they close out the 2025 regular on the road at South Carolina (27-26, 5-22) starting Thursday night.

How did the series win over the Hogs at home affects the Tigers’ perception in the latest round of NCAA regional projections?

Here’s where national publications see for LSU just a little over two weeks away from Selection Monday.

LSU baseball NCAA regional projections

Despite every major college baseball poll having LSU at No. 1, there still seems to be a bit of variance with where analysts project Jay Johnson’s club to land as far as seeding goes in the NCAA Tournament.

Make no mistake there was ground made up for the Tigers in the predictions. D1 Baseball rose LSU up two spots in the national seeding from No. 4 up to No. 2. Baseball America gave the Tigers their biggest bumps among the prognosticators, shooting them up to the No. 2 overall seed from No. 6, where they were last week.

On3 on the other hand still suggests that LSU’s résumé isn’t as good as a few teams in front of them like Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Vanderbilt. LSU sits at the No. 6 national seed in its projections this week.

One thing is clear, LSU is in a good spot in its schedule to remove any lingering doubt and the projections should come around should it take care of business at South Carolina.

D1 Baseball: No. 2 national seed LSU 2. Miami 3. Southeastern Louisiana 4. Bryant; Matched up with No. 15 North Carolina State regional

Baseball America: No. 2 national seed LSU 2. Louisville 3. Arizona 4. Central Connecticut; Matched up with No. 15 TCU regional

On3: No. 6 national seed LSU 2. Georgia Tech 3. Southeastern Louisiana 4. Columbia; Matched up with No. 11 Alabama regional
