What Tim Corbin said about Ethan McElvain performance for Vanderbilt vs Tennessee
Here’s what Tim Corbin said about Ethan McElvain and his performance for Vanderbilt baseball vs. Tennessee
The postseason is nearly here in the Southeastern Conference, and this year’s SEC baseball tournament is shaping up to be one for the record books.
Much like its brother sports, college football and college basketball, the SEC has dominated college baseball this season, as 10 of its teams make up the top 25 of the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and eight are projected to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament.
On top of already having the defending College World Series champion, Tennessee, and several baseball powerhouses like Arkansas, LSU and Vanderbilt, one additional reason for the SEC’s dominance this season has been the addition of Texas. The Longhorns are the No. 1 seed in this week’s upcoming conference tournament at Hoover Met Stadium in Hoover, Alabama after winning the SEC regular season title.
While this year’s SEC tournament is a first of its kind, as it features 16 teams with the addition of Texas and Texas A&M, it is the 27th consecutive conference tournament being held at Hoover Met Stadium, the former home of the Chicago White Sox‘s Double-A affiliate Birmingham Barons.
Also new this year is a double-round bye for the top four seeds in the tournament bracket. Action gets underway on Tuesday, May 20 with a quadruple header of first-round games featuring the eight lowest seeds in the tournament.
