Lansing Community College baseball falls to Kellogg 11-3 in NJCAA Super Regional Final

JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) – Lansing Community College baseball lost 11-3 to Kellogg Community College in the NJCAA Div. 2 Region XII Super Regional championship game played at the Jackson College Baseball Field.

After losing to Kellogg 22-12 yesterday, the Stars needed two wins over the Bruins to claim the regional title, while Kellogg only needed to win one.

Lansing led 3-1 after the sixth inning, but Kellogg scored two runs with two outs to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. After a scoreless top of the eighth, Kellogg exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the eighth and won the game 11-3.

With the win, Kellogg qualifies for the NJCAA World Series, while Lansing will have to wait and see if it is selected as one of the two at-large bids for the World Series beginning on May 24 in Enid, Oklahoma.
