
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech and coach Grant McCasland have agreed on a contract extension over the next six years.
McCasland will be one of the highest-paid coaches in college basketball, signing through the 2030-31 season.
“Coach McCasland immediately built upon our men’s basketball program’s established success and continues working to raise and deliver on high expectations,” Texas Tech Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt said in a release on Monday. “We look forward to an exciting future for Texas Tech basketball under Coach McCasland’s leadership.”
McCasland has a combined record of 51-20 through two years and has reached the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons including an appearance in the Elite Eight last year.
The Red Raiders finished ranked No. 8 following the end of March Madness. Texas Tech reached a program record of six consecutive weeks ranked inside of the AP Top 10.
