Alabama football vs. Florida State is in 100 days. What to know as Crimson Tide 2025 season nears

The countdown for Alabama football has officially begun.

May 22 marks 100 days until the Crimson Tide officially open the second season of the Kalen DeBoer era and marking an end of Alabama‘s first season without 10 wins since 2007.

Here’s what you need to know as the Alabama vs. Florida State season opener nears.

When is Alabama football 2025 season opener?

Alabama will open the 2025 season with a true road game, facing Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Aug. 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ABC.

Alabama vs. Florida State football history

Alabama’s history against Florida State is not extensive. But, for the most part, the Crimson Tide has ended up with a win.

Alabama has won three of five meetings against the Seminoles, including their last meeting: a 24-7 win in Atlanta to begin the 2017 season.

Florida State’s only win against Alabama — a 21-14 win against the Crimson Tide in Jacksonville — was later vacated.

When did Alabama football last lose a season opener?

Alabama has not lost a season-opening game since 2001 when Dennis Franchione, in his first game as Crimson Tide head coach, led the team to a 20-17 home loss to UCLA.

Starting in 2002, Alabama has outscored opponents 963-275, a stretch that incudes meetings against seven Associated Press top-125 opponents.
