GREEN BAY (WLUK) — More than 150 footballs fans now own a piece of Green Bay history.
An online auction of 2025 NFL Draft footprint items brought in thousands of dollars that will be donated to the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Just 12 hours after the auction of memorabilia closed, winners were visiting the Titletown Auction Company’s warehouse to pick up their treasures.
“Just having a piece of memorabilia — who knows if this is ever going to happen here again? It’s just a special piece to have, just something to remember, and hopefully I can pass on to my son. It’s just pretty cool,” said Jon Anderson from De Pere.
According to John Dugan from Titletown Auction Company, 156 buyers — including one from Germany — purchased all 483 items on the auction block.
Dugan said, “As a collector, I wish I could have gotten something. There’s so much cool stuff in here. I know other collectors will be really excited with the items they got.”
While some buyers went home with items for themselves, others were hoping to surprise loved ones.
“I just wanted to have something from the draft, something not too large, that I can put in my hobby room,” said Gary Grant from Green Bay.
“I got a bar sign because I thought it was pretty cool. Wisconsin alcohol. I got one of the barricade covers because I just walked past it, pretty cool,” added Packers fan Ben Boettcher.
Mike Michalski from De Pere said, “I got the sign for ‘Win a chance to kick a field goal on Lambeau Field’ because my son won a chance to kick a field goal on Lambeau Field, and he kicked the field goal, so I thought I’d buy the sign for him to put in his rec room with the rest of his Packers stuff.”
For Lori Hunte of Green Bay, the auction was personal. She bid for pieces, scoring one for her son, who was honored with other members of the military on the stage during the draft.
She said, “I’m excited to kind of present it to him and bring back the memories and stuff, because he’s military and he’ll be transferring. So, a lot of things are going on, movement for him, so this was really an honor and blessing for him to experience that with friends and people and part of the people with the draft.”
But it’s not just the bidders who are the winners. The proceeds from the sale are being donated to the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
The final amount donated to the Red Cross will be announced during an upcoming check presentation.
