
College baseball player forms sweet bond with coach’s daughters
While playing for Coach Frank Avilla Jr., Brady Crabtree formed a special, sibling-like bond with his daughters – a connection that continued well after graduation.
The Arizona baseball team has won three straight games to improve its standing for the NCAA tournament.
The most recent victory was 4-1 in a Big 12 tournament quarterfinal against No. 12 seed BYU as the No. 4 seed on May 22.
The Wildcats have made four straight NCAA baseball tournaments and should be a lock for a fifth straight. They take on No. 1 seed West Virginia in the Big 12 semifinals on May 23, looking to improve their seeding in the NCAA tournament bracket.

Baseball America: Arizona makes field as No. 2 seed
This site’s projection, which was done before Arizona baseball’s win against BYU, had the Wildcats as the No. 2 seed in the Los Angeles Regional along with No. 1 seed UCLA (the No. 13 national seed in the projection), No. 3 seed Mississippi State and No. 4 seed San Diego.
D1 Baseball: Wildcats get No. 2 seed in Baton Rouge Regional
This projection was done before the start of the conference tournaments. It had LSU as the No. 1 seed in the regional and Miami the No. 3 seed. Miami (Ohio) was listed as the No. 4 seed.
The Tennessean: Arizona No. 3 seed in Corvallis Regional
This projection was also done before the Big 12 tournament. It had Oregon State as the regional host and No. 11 overall seed. UCLA was the second seed, while San Diego was the No. 4 seed.
Knox News: Chip Hale’s team lands No. 3 seed in Fayetteville Regional
Another No. 3 seed projection for the Wildcats, which also came before the conference tourneys. This one put Arizona at No. 3 national seed Arkansas, with Kansas the No. 2 seed and Wright State the No. 4 seed.
On3.com: Arizona baseball earns No. 2 seed in Chapel Hill Regional
This projection, also done before the conference tournaments, had the Wildcats in the Chapel Hill Regional with No. 3 national seed North Carolina. UConn was the No. 3 seed, while Long Island was the No. 4 seed.
