Among Big Ten teams, Michigan State was essentially in the middle of the pack. The Spartans were ranked No. 9 among current Big Ten teams in the rankings. Here’s where the other Big Ten teams included in the article landed:

  • Ohio State (No. 1)
  • Oregon (No. 7)
  • USC (No. 8)
  • Michigan (No. 11)
  • Wisconsin (No. 16)
  • Penn State (No. 17)
  • Iowa (No. 23)
  • Washington (No. 24)

During the 2000s era, Michigan State has gone bowling 15 of the 25 seasons, and finished eight of those years ranked in the final Associated Press poll. Additionally, Michigan State won three Big Ten championships and qualified for the College Football Playoff once in 2015.
