From the South Shore to the ACC.
Sebastian Wilkins, a 6-8 forward from Canton, announced on Friday that he will play Division 1 college basketball at Duke University.
Wilkins, a four-star recruit who attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH, made his commitment official on the 247sports YouTube channel and entered the day with his decision narrowed down to two schools: Duke or Maryland.
Blue Devils, it is.
During the ceremony, Wilkins also announced that he’ll be reclassifying into the Class of 2025. He’s the fifth-recruit in a star-studded class and will be on campus in the coming months.
Wilkins also received offers from UMass, Boston College, Providence, Alabama, Florida State, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Rutgers and Seton Hall, according to his recruiting profile on 247sports.com.
As a senior this past season, Wilkins led Brewster Academy to a 28-5 record with berths in both the EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament and Chipotle Nationals.
At Nationals in Fishers, Indiana, Wilkins posted 22 points and 14 rebounds as Brewster defeated CIA Bella Vista (of Arizona), 70-60, in the opening round on April 3. Brewster concluded its season with a 47-45 loss to top-seeded Columbus High (of Florida) in the following round.
Sebastian Wilkins scouting report
ESPN ranks Wilkins as the No. 17 prospect in its top 100 list in the Class of 2026.
Jamie Shaw, a recruiting analyst at On3 Sports, wrote in a story from this year’s HoopHall Classic in January that the senior “moves with a purpose off the ball and he does a good job finding advantageous positions before getting involved in the play. Wilkins is a high-floor forward who plays with motor and strength, but more importantly, he does not attempt anything he cannot do.”
Duke basketball recruiting class
Wilkins bolsters an already-strong recruiting class for the Blue Devils. He joins brothers Cameron and Cayden Boozer — the sons of ex-NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer — five-star guard Dame Sarr, four-star forward Nikolas Khamenia, Rice transfer Ifeanyi Ufochukwu and Washington State transfer Cedric Coward.
