Gavin Adcock made headlines last week after he was arrested in Tennessee and charged with reckless driving and violation of open container laws.
Adcock hasn’t commented on the arrest. Well, that is, unless you consider his Instagram post on Tuesday to be a comment. It certainly seems like one because Adcock posted a clip from a video for a new song, “Morning Bail,” which he said will be out Friday.
The song starts out, “Hey mister, can I get a copy of the mugshot.
“Last thing I remember I forgot to eat dinner,” the song continues. “Then I started sipping liquor and it all went dark. Ever since her leaving, I’ve been bottom barrel sinking. Man, I gotta quit drinking on an open heart. Guess I was hittin’ it hard. Woke up in a cell. Blew my money at the bar, now I can’t make morning bail.”
Adcock, who is slated to play the York Fair on Saturday, was arrested last Wednesday night, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody by the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Oconee just after 11 p.m. His bond was set at $1,000, and he was released from jail just after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, according to the report.
Taste of Country called Adcock “a rising country star” and said he is best known for songs like “Deep End” and “Ain’t No Cure.”
Taste of Country reported that Adcock, a 26-year-old native of Georgia, previously said on Twitter that he went to jail once because of a “suspended license.”
Adcock played college football for Georgia Southern, but the Savannah Morning News said he was removed from the team in 2021 after a viral video showed him standing atop a moving bus while chugging a beer before a game.
