UNC baseball will face Arizona in the Chapel Hill Super Regional.
The No. 5 overall seed Tar Heels (45-13) will host the Wildcats (42-18) in a best-of-three series from June 6-9 at Boshamer Stadium.
Arizona advanced to the super regional as the No. 2 seed out of the Eugene Regional by beating Cal Poly and Utah Valley, completed a 3-0 run at Oregon to secure a spot in the super regionals.

How UNC baseball reached NCAA Super Regional
After winning the 2025 ACC Tournament in Durham, UNC started the Chapel Hill Regional with a 4-0 win against No. 4 seed Holy Cross behind a dominant effort from ace pitcher Jake Knapp. The Tar Heels followed with an offensive clinch against Oklahoma in Game 2, earning an 11-5 victory behind two home runs from San Angelo. UNC is hosting a super regional for the second straight season.
How Arizona baseball reached NCAA Super Regional
After Arizona won the Big 12 Tournament, the Wildcats rolled through the Eugene Regional as they outscored their three opponents 31-6. Arizona picked up a 3-2 win against No. 3 seed Cal Poly before a 14-4 victory against No. 4 seed Utah Valley in Game 2. The Wildcats closed their dominant stretch with a 14-0 victory against Cal Poly to advance.
What UNC baseball fans need to know about Arizona
Arizona has made six super regional appearances since the format was introduced in 1999. Center fielder Aaron Walton is the headliner for the Wildcats, who are in the super regional round for the first time since 2021. Walton had three home runs and drove in six runs in the regional finale.
Walton was the second Wildcat to hit three home runs in a game at the regional, joining Mason White, who hit three blasts against Utah Valley. Arizona is in its 44th NCAA Tournament, the sixth most nationally, but the Wildcats have never played UNC in the postseason. The Tar Heels are 2-3 in five games against Arizona, but the programs haven’t played since 1985.
