The Lincoln University (PA) Men’s Basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Tevin Baskin as the new Associate Head Coach. Baskin brings nearly a decade of diverse basketball coaching experience, most recently serving as an integral part of the NBA G League’s Long Island Nets coaching staff. He joins the Lions with a reputation as a proven developer of talent and a rising star in the coaching profession.
During his time with the Long Island Nets, Baskin helped guide the team to back-to-back NBA G League Eastern Conference Finals appearances (2023, 2024) and a 2023 regular season Eastern Conference title, highlighted by a franchise-record 16-game winning streak and a league-best defensive unit. His role as lead player development coach resulted in a franchise-record seven NBA Call-Ups in the 2024-25 season, working with players like Drew Timme, Tosan Evbuomwan, Kendall Brown, and Amari Bailey. Timme earned a multi-year contract with Brooklyn, while Brown and Evbuomwan signed two-way deals.
Baskin also contributed to the Nets’ NBA Summer League efforts, preseason training camps, and created a player development database to support long-term growth. His impact extended beyond the G League, having previously worked in the Southeastern Conference at Mississippi State, where he was part of a staff that reached the 2019 NCAA Tournament and developed future NBA players Quinndary Weatherspoon, Reggie Perry, and Robert Woodard II.
“Coach Baskin’s basketball acumen and wealth of experience in both the college and professional ranks are second to none,” said Lincoln Head Coach Julius Hodge. “He is a proven program builder and an exceptional teacher of the game. His ability to develop and connect with players is a great addition to our program.”
Baskin also brings experience from roles at Saint Michael’s College, Bridgewater College, and Northwest Florida State, where he helped lead the team to an undefeated conference season and a trip to the NJCAA Final Four. As a player, he starred at Trinity Catholic High School in Connecticut before playing collegiately at Quinnipiac, Chipola College, and Appalachian State, finishing with two seasons of professional basketball in Mexico.
“I’m elated to join the Lincoln University Men’s Basketball family and its community,” said Baskin. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Coach Hodge as we build this program through hard work and commitment. I look forward to fostering relationships with our players and using my experiences as a coach to make a positive impact both on and off the court.”
Baskin holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a minor in Sociology from Appalachian State and a Master’s in Workforce Education Leadership from Mississippi State. He and his wife, Jill, were married in May 2023.
