Report: Kansas, UConn schedule home-and-home series beginning in Lawrence this season

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – Two of the premier programs in college basketball will begin a home-and-home series this season at Allen Fieldhouse.

According to multiple reports, the Kansas Jayhawks and UConn Huskies will meet on Dec. 2 at Allen Fieldhouse for the first game of a home-and-home series. UConn will host a return game during the 2026 season.

The two programs most recently met when UConn came to Allen Fieldhouse on Dec. 1, 2023. Kansas won that game 69-65 over the eventual national champions.

This season’s game will feature potential UConn’s pair of potential preseason All-Americans with guards Solo Ball and Alex Karaban. The Jayhawks figure to have their own preseason All-American with reigning Naismith Boys Basketball Player of the Year guard Darryn Peterson.

In the program’s histories, Kansas is 4-0 against UConn. Along with playing UConn, Kansas’ 2025 non-conference schedule features a neutral site game against Duke in the Champions Classic, road games at North Carolina and North Carolina State and a rivalry game against Mizzou in Kansas City.

The Jayhawks will also play in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving week.

Kansas and UConn’s matchup this December will feature the two programs responsible for three of the last four national championships.
