SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Wofford Athletics) – Wofford men’s basketball head coach Dwight Perry has announced the signing of five transfers to the 2025-26 roster. The group includes Brendan Rigsbee, Callum Richard, Nils Machowski, Rex Stirling and Cayden Vasko. The student-athletes have signed aid agreements to join the program.
“The group of players joining our program brings a combination of skill, toughness, and competitiveness that we target in any addition to the program,” said Perry. “While each of these young men are exceptional basketball talents, supporters of the program will be more impressed with the continued commitment our staff has to bringing in great ambassadors of Wofford College.”
Brendan Rigsbee, a guard out of Suwannee, Georgia, played two seasons at Division II Georgia College & State University. During the 2023-24 season, Rigsbee was an All-Peach Belt Second Team selection, averaging 16.8 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting from the field and 43.6 percent from deep. The southpaw redshirted his freshman season at the University of Alabama in Huntsville prior to attending GCSU.
“We could not be more thrilled to have Brendan here at Wofford,” said Perry. “Not only will Terriers fans love his ability to score and make winning plays, but they will also grow to enjoy watching his effort and passion show every time he steps on the court. Brendan’s desire to win and compete shows up each and every day. Everyone that we talked to about Brendan reiterated how much he cares about the team and winning. He will be a great fit for not only the team but the Wofford community.”
A native of Stanley, North Carolina, Callum Richard played the last two seasons at East Carolina University. The 6-10 center appeared in 20 total games including two starts. Callum scored a career-high five points and grabbed two rebounds against Mount Olive last season. At Gaston Day School, he was a two-time NCISAA 2A All-State selection while also earning All-Metrolina Athletic Conference honors.
“We are excited to have Callum join the Wofford program,” said Perry. “His size and toughness will be a welcome addition. Not only does he have the necessary tools to be a valuable player in the program, but he also has a personality that fits in perfectly with the culture we have here at Wofford College. As a player who has already played in college, his experience will be invaluable to the program.”
From Berlin, Germany, Nils Machowski spent the last two seasons at the University of Central Florida. Machowski has appeared in 56 career games and has totaled 163 points. Last season, Machowski saw action in 31 games and made nine starts. He tallied four double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 15 points against Oregon State in UCF’s first round contest at the College Basketball Crown. Machowski started the final seven games for UCF which featured the Big 12 Conference Championship Tournament. He was a two-time U19 German Champion as a member of Alba Berlin and was the starting point guard for the 2022 German National Team in the U18 European Championship.
“Nils is a phenomenal addition to our program,” said Perry. “His playmaking ability will fit in nicely with how we like to play here at Wofford: aggressive, selfless and intelligent. His prior experiences at UCF and with the German National Team program have prepared him to help Wofford compete at a high level. Fans will love seeing the impact Nils has on our program on and off the court.”
Rex Stirling, a big man out of Melbourne, Australia, has played the last two seasons at Williston State, a NJCAA Division I member. Throughout his two seasons at Williston State, Stirling started in all 60 games he appeared in totaling 1,135 points on 56 percent shooting from the field. This past season, Stirling averaged 18.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest, ranking him seventh nationally in rebounding. The dominant season led Stirling to an NJCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention and a first team all-conference selection.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rex to Wofford and Spartanburg,” said Perry. “As a player with a high motor and relentless energy on the court, Rex’s physicality and toughness will fit right in with Wofford Basketball. It will not take long for fans to realize how special Rex is not only as a player but as a person. Growing up in Australia and spending time in North Dakota, Rex’s prior experiences will allow him to bring a much-needed level of maturity that our program will rely on.”
From Lowell, Indiana, Cayden Vasko will join the Terriers after two years with the Central Michigan Chippewas. Through two seasons with Central Michigan, Vasko started in 62 of the 63 games he appeared in and totaled 359 points, 252 rebounds, and 119 assists. Last season, Vasko averaged 7.4 points and 5 rebounds per contest while leading the team with 46 three-pointers. He finished fifth on the team in scoring last season, third in rebounding, and second in assists. Vasko also reached double-digits in scoring ten times. He notched his first-career double-double at Aquinas after scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
“Wofford is ecstatic to announce the addition of Cayden to our program,” said Perry. “His combination of skill and basketball IQ makes him a great fit for our style of play. Like the other additions to our program, it did not take long to know WINNING is extremely high on his priority list. His prior college experience combined with his mature approach will make him an asset to not only our program but to Wofford College as well.”
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
