Korben Lucas is headed north to play college baseball.
The Lyon County High School senior has signed to play at the next level at Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois.
Lucas was one of five Lyons to ink college baseball deals Wednesday in joint ceremonies in front of family, friends and teammates at Jason White Gymnasium in Eddyville.
John Bingham will play baseball at Mississippi State, Eli Baker is headed to Radford, Peyton Williams has signed with Western Kentucky and Austin Spears inked with Northeast Mississippi.
Lucas was a .388 hitter for the Lyons last spring with three home runs and 36 RBIs. Fourteen of his 31 base hits went for extra bases. He was also 12 for 12 on stolen bases.
Lucas helped Lyon fashion a 22-7 record last season which included an appearance in the All A Classic state championship game in Richmond and a fifth-straight 5th District championship for the Lyons.
The Frontier College Bobcats compete in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
