Ridgewood flag football captures state title to complete perfect season

UNION – New Jersey has its first true flag football dynasty.

Ridgewood brought home the state title for the third straight year, beating Bayonne, 12-0, in Saturday’s final at Kean University’s Alumni Stadium.

The Maroons (13-0) stifled Bayonne by intercepting four passes – including two from Audrey Schildkraut – and scoring both touchdowns off turnovers. Lucia Mastellone scored on a 10-yard run on Ridgewood’s first drive and threw a short touchdown to Danielle DeNoy in the second half.
