Former Vanderbilt baseball player Jayden Davis transfer to Penn State

Vanderbilt infielder Jayden Davis is transferring to Penn State.

The former Cookeville High School baseball standout was limited this past season, seeing action in 24 games. He batted .203, with one home run and six RBIs.

Davis announced the decision on the X platform.

Davis started his college baseball career at Samford where he played the 2022-23 season with the Bulldogs. The former SoCon Freshman of the Year led the team in hitting, batting .358 and hitting nine home runs.

After his stop at Samford, the Tennessee native transferred to Vanderbilt. In his sophomore season with the Commodores, Davis hit .315, which was the third best on the team. The infielder hit a pair of home runs, 12 doubles and 36 RBIs in his 46 games played.

Through three seasons of his collegiate career, Davis is batting 0.321, hitting 12 home runs and 80 RBIs.

After two seasons with the Commodores, he will use his final year of eligibility with the Nittany Lions.
