Gage Wood may have forever enshrined himself in college baseball history in what could have been his final start for Arkansas baseball.

The junior right-handed pitcher fired a historic no-hitter, the first at the College World Series since 1960. Wood struck out 19 Murray State hitters in the process in a 3-0 win for Arkansas over the Racers in an elimination game from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Wood’s lone blemish was when he hit Dom Decker to begin the eighth inning, otherwise he was angling for perfection. With his start on June 16, Wood likely put himself into a bigger conversation of being a first round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. He had been projected as a first round pick in some mocks before, but may have cemented his place with his dominant no-hitter.
