• The loser of Tuesday’s game will be eliminated from the College World Series. The winner will advance to play Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the bracket final.
• Arkansas lost 4-1 to LSU on Saturday and defeated Murray State 3-0 on Monday at the College World Series.
• UCLA defeated Murray State 6-4 on Saturday and lost 9-5 to LSU on Tuesday in the resumption of a game suspended the night before.
• The game will feature two of the nation’s top players in shortstops Wehiwa Aloy of Arkansas and Roch Cholowsky of UCLA. Both players were finalists for the Dick Hoswer Trophy that was won by Florida State shortstop Alex Lodise, and Cholowsky won the Brooks Wallace Award as the nation’s most outstanding player at the position. Aloy is a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
