CHICAGO — With rain showers in the forecast for the remainder of the evening, the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs have had their June 18 game postponed.

The game will be made up on August 18 as a split doubleheader at Wrigley, turning what was initially a four-game series into a five-game set. That will be a particularly grueling stretch for Milwaukee, with it now playing 18 games in 17 days.

What was scheduled to be an enticing pitching matchup with right-hander Jacob Misiorowski against veteran Jameson Taillon will likely remain on the docket for the regularly-scheduled June 19 day game.

The postponement also creates another even more intriguing pitching matchup. If the Brewers keep their starters on schedule, Misiorowski would get bumped back to June 24 at American Family Field, when the Pittsburgh Pirates are lined up to pitch Paul Skenes.
