LSU baseball score vs. Coastal Carolina: Live updates from Game 1 of the College World Series final

OMAHA, Neb. — LSU is back in the College World Series final.

For the second time in three seasons, the Tigers will play in the final game of the college baseball season and compete for a chance to win their second national championship in three seasons, beginning on Saturday against Coastal Carolina at Charles Schwab Field (6 p.m., ESPN).

LSU clinched its spot in the final after earning a dramatic 6-5 win over Arkansas on Wednesday night in Omaha. Trailing 5-3 with two outs in the ninth inning, senior Luis Hernandez hit a line drive to left field that deflected off sophomore Charles Davalan’s right shoulder and allowed two runs to score.

The next LSU batter, junior Jared Jones, then lofted a single that deflected off of second baseman Cam Kozeal’s glove and into center field. The hit allowed Hernandez to score from second base and send the Tigers to the CWS final.
