The 2025 college baseball season is almost here. In exactly two weeks, Georgia will take the field in Wilmington, North Carolina to officially begin its 2025 campaign. The Bulldogs’ schedule is filled with storylines, marquee matchups and rematch games. Here is a series-by-series breakdown of Georgia’s 2025 schedule.
at UNC Wilmington: Feb. 14 – Feb. 16: Georgia will begin its 2025 season on Feb. 14 — Valentine’s Day — with two games against Quinnipiac University and two against UNC Wilmington. The Bulldogs last faced Quinnipiac in 2009 but hosted UNC Wilmington last year in the NCAA Athens Regional, where they won 11-2 in the winner’s bracket.
at Kennesaw State: Feb. 18: The Bulldogs will travel to Kennesaw State on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for a midweek matchup against the Owls. Kennesaw State finished the 2024 season with a winning record but lost by a combined score of 24-8 in two games against Georgia.
vs Illinois Chicago: Feb. 20 – Feb. 23: Georgia’s home debut will come on Thursday, Feb. 20, in a four-game series against the University of Illinois Chicago. The Flames are led by fourth-year head coach Sean McDermott, who is entering his 26th overall season on UIC’s staff.
at Georgia State: Feb. 26: The Bulldogs will travel to Georgia State on Wednesday, Feb. 26, to face the Panthers. Georgia State finished under .500 in 2024 but is returning 12 players, most notably outfielder Michael Maginnis, who hit .294 with 11 homers.
vs Florida Gulf Coast: Feb. 28 – March 2: Georgia will host Florida Gulf Coast University the first weekend in March for a four-game series. Florida Gulf Coast had four players finish with double digit home runs in 2024 and four pitchers with an ERA under five. It is also the alma mater of Braves pitcher Chris Sale.
vs High Point: March 4: The Bulldogs will face High Point University on Tuesday, March 4, at 3 p.m. The Panthers won their first Big South title in 2024 to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. They defeated Vanderbilt in the Clemson Regional, but losses to Clemson and Coastal Carolina ended their season.
vs Georgia State: March 5: Georgia’s 13-game home stand will continue on March 5 with a Wednesday matinee against Georgia State. First pitch will be around 3 p.m.
vs Columbia: March 7 – March 9: The Bulldogs will host Columbia University for their final non-conference series. The Lions finished with a winning road record last season but were swept in three games by Florida, the only SEC team on their schedule.
vs East Tennessee State: March 11: Georgia will face East Tennessee State on Tuesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. The Buccaneers’ 36 victories in 2024 tied for the third-most in program history and were the most since East Tennessee State’s 2013 season.
vs Kentucky: March 14 – March 16: Georgia will begin conference play on March 14 against Kentucky, a reverse of last year’s SEC-opener in which the Wildcats swept the Bulldogs in Lexington. Georgia poached Kentucky assistant coach Nick Ammirati from its staff during the offseason and gained a commitment from outfielder Nolan McCarthy.
at Florida: March 21 – March 23: The Bulldogs will travel to Gainesville on March 21 for their first SEC road series of the season. Georgia and Florida — now one of Georgia’s permanent opponents — usually play a fall scrimmage as well, but the Bulldogs did not participate due to facility renovations. The Gators are projected to have a solid team but will be missing Jac Caglianone. They appeared in the College World Series last season but were eliminated by eventual runner up Texas A&M.
vs West Georgia: March 25: Georgia will host West Georgia on Wednesday, March 25, at 5 p.m. The Wolves will compete in Division I for the first time as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
vs Auburn: March 28 – March 30: The Bulldogs will end March with a three-game series against Auburn — Georgia’s other permanent opponent — at Foley Field. The Tigers finished with a 8-22 conference record in 2024 — leaving them out of the SEC Tournament — but ended the season with two straight SEC series wins over Missouri and Alabama.
vs Queens University of Charlotte: April 1: Georgia will face Queens University of Charlotte for the first time in program history on Tuesday, April 1. The Royals struggled in 2024 with a 14-41 record under first year head coach Jake Hendrick but had an offense that broke their single-season home run record.
at Texas: April 4 – April 6: Georgia will travel to Austin, Texas on April 4 for what will be a homecoming for three Bulldogs. The Longhorns are in their first season under Jim Schlossnagle, who controversially left Texas A&M to become the head coach at Texas.
vs Presbyterian: April 8: Georgia will return to Athens on April 8 for a 3 p.m. first pitch against Presbyterian College. Presbyterian won its first Big South regular season title in 2024 and is led by reigning Big South Head Coach of the Year Elton Pollock.
vs Arkansas: April 11 – April 13: Conference play will continue for the Bulldogs on April 13 with a three-game series against Arkansas. The Razorbacks earned the No. 5 national seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament but faltered in their Regional. Arkansas is once again expected to be one of the strongest teams. It was one of 10 schools with multiple D1Baseball preseason All-Americans and one of five schools with multiple preseason All-America pitchers.
vs Georgia Tech at Truist Park: April 15: Georgia will play Georgia Tech on April 15 in what will be a highly anticipated matchup that benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The game will occur at Truist Park and will be the only meeting between the two teams in the regular season. The in-state rivals had multiple memorable games in 2024, including the NCAA Athens Regional that Georgia won 8-6 in extra innings to eliminate Georgia Tech.
at Vanderbilt: April 17 – April 19: Georgia will go to the campus of perennial baseball powerhouse Vanderbilt in mid-April for a three-game series. The Bulldogs’ three-game sweep of the Commodores in 2024 at Foley Field was their first since 2003.
at Clemson: April 22: Georgia will travel about 70 miles north on Tuesday, April 22, for its 6 p.m. first pitch against Clemson. The Tigers earned a national seed in the NCAA Tournament last season but were eliminated by Florida in their own Super Regional. They return Cam Cannarella, who hit .337 with 11 home runs in 2024.
vs Oklahoma: April 24 – April 26: The Bulldogs will host Oklahoma, one of the newest SEC members, at the end of April. The game will feature a pair of brothers, with Kolby Branch entering his second season — after transferring from Baylor — with Georgia and his younger brother Kyle entering his first with Oklahoma. The Sooners won their first Big 12 regular season title in 2024 but lost to UConn twice in the Norman Regional. They are led by pitching guru Skip Johnson, who has coached Oklahoma to four NCAA Tournament appearances and one College World Series final in six full seasons.
vs Kennesaw State: April 29: Georgia will conclude its tough April schedule on Tuesday, April 29, with a matchup against Kennesaw State at 7 p.m. It will be the last midweek non-conference game of the regular season.
at Missouri: May 2 – May 4: The Bulldogs will begin May with a trip to Missouri. The Tigers only won one SEC series in 2024 and were left out of the SEC Tournament. However, they are expected to be much improved in Kerrick Jackson’s second season at the helm.
at Alabama: May 9 – May 11: Georgia will end its road play by traveling to Tuscaloosa on May 9 for a three-game series with Alabama. Georgia earned a commitment from Alabama’s closer Alton Davis II, who played for USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team over the summer. Head coach Wes Johnson said the Bulldogs are working Davis as a starter, indicating he could pitch meaningful innings against his former team.
vs Texas A&M: May 15 – May 17: Georgia’s final series of the 2025 regular season will be against the College World Series runner up, Texas A&M, on May 15 at Foley Field. The Aggies lost their head coach to Texas but hired from within and retained the majority of their talent. They also earned the No. 1 spot in all three currently released — Baseball America, D1Baseball and Perfect Game — preseason polls.
