Alabama caps undefeated run at 2025 Jax College Baseball Classic with thrilling comeback

The Alabama Crimson Tide’s time in Jacksonville has now officially come to a conclusion, and what an eventual three games it was for the team down at the 2025 Jax College Baseball Classic.

Beginning on Friday night, Alabama faced off against Coastal Carolina to open things in Jacksonville, a game where the Crimson Tide went on to pickup a 9-2 victory. Using a five-run fifth inning to pull ahead, the Crimson Tide drew an impressive 12 walks offensively, and received a strong start from Zane Adams, who allowed only one earned run with six strikeouts across 4.1 innings.

Saturday, the Crimson Tide then faced their toughest test yet this season in No. 12 ranked NC State, one that they would pass with a 4-0 shutout victory over the Wolfpack. Alabama’s pitching was certainly the story here led by starter Riley Quick, limiting NC State to only three hits offensively.

Brennen Norton also added his first home run of the season for Alabama in the win, which was one-of-nine hits for the Crimson Tide on Saturday.

In conclusion Sunday, Alabama faced off against the Ohio State Buckeyes in a game that ended up becoming the most memorable contest that the Crimson Tide have played this season. As to why, Alabama originally fell behind 10-0 after the top of the fourth inning, but came roaring back in the late innings by scoring a combined nine runs over the final three frames, capped by a three-run walk-off home run by Will Hodo, to make it a 12-10 final for the Crimson Tide.

Alongside Hodo, shortstop Justin Lebron also hit two home runs for Alabama with six RBI, while Kade Snell went three-for-five with two RBI. Tate Robertson also picked up the win after three impressive scoreless innings of relief in which he had four strikeouts.

Rounding out the event, Lebron was also named the 2025 Jax College Baseball Classic MVP, while Hodo, Norton, and Snell were also named to the All-Tournament team alongside Alabama’s shortstop.

With these results, Alabama’s record this season now sits at an undefeated 8-0 overall, with the Crimson Tide’s next game coming this Tuesday, Feb. 25, at home against Jacksonville State.

Will the Crimson Tide also work their way into the Top 25 rankings during the next update this week as well?
