This will be a competitive game. And while Arkansas could very well win outright, I’m more inclined to take the Razorbacks against the spread vs. Alabama.

The Arkansas Razorbacks and Alabama Crimson Tide meet in one of the highlights of a loaded college basketball slate.
Arkansas spent much of the season looking like it’d be one of the biggest disappointments but has suddenly turned that around. John Calipari & Co. have won three of the last four, including back-to-back road wins. And tonight’s Alabama vs. Arkansas predictions have the Razorbacks keeping it close at the very least.

My best bet

My analysis
The Arkansas Razorbacks will hang here and possibly even win, but I see more value in taking the points.
To properly speak about this Razorbacks team, you must take away what we saw from the season’s first two months. While Boogie Fland suffered a season-ending injury, Arkansas has gained so much continuity over the past few weeks.
Guard Johnell Davis’s struggle to start the season after transferring from Florida Athletic was highly predictable, but he’s not the same player he was a month ago. Maybe it was the increase in usage in the wake of Fland’s injury that got him going, but over the last few games, he’s given the Hogs some much-needed offensive production. With his season-high of 24 points on the road against Texas, Davis did something he hadn’t done once this season: Score double-digits in three straight games.
That production is extremely valuable against high-flying offenses like the Alabama Crimson Tide because you’ll likely have to score at a high clip to stay competitive.
You hear so much about the threes with Alabama, but there’s much more to their offense. A massive aspect of their DNA is all of the high/low stuff they do with various mobile bigs.
This Arkansas defense can slow that down because the Razorbacks have the perfect weapon to defend it in Zvonimir Ivisic. The Razorbacks rank above the sports average defensively against post-ups, pick & pops, and plays defined as “high low” sets. I like their chances to slow down these significant tenets of the Alabama offense, and when you can do that, you have a great chance against the Tide because of their highly exploitable defense.

Johnell Davis Over 15.5 points
I don’t expect Johnell Davis’ confidence surge slows down here. This game should see plenty of transition opportunities, as both teams are comfortable playing at a high pace. That bodes quite well for Davis, who ranks in the Top 8% of basketball in transition scoring.
