CANYON, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo College Badgers’ baseball team dropped both of their matchups to El Paso Community College in Saturday’s doubleheader.
The Tejanos got off to a hot start in game one, but the Badgers responded with two of their own before tying the game at 3-all in the sixth inning.
EPCC ended up winning the game in the seventh inning after tacking on three more runs and the Badgers didn’t respond in the bottom frame, falling 6-3.
Despite the loss, Badgers’ pitcher, Logan Tibbett, had an incredible game. In six innings pitched, he allowed six hits and three runs while forcing 12 strikeouts.
Game two started shortly after, and once again, the Tejanos got off to a quick start, going up 6-0 before the Badgers answered with four runs of their own.
Unfortunately for AC, those four runs would be their only runs of the day after the game got run ruled in the fifth inning. The Tejanos took game two, 16-4.
Game three and four of the series will be played Sunday at Wilder Park. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m. CST.
