AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo College Badgers didn’t find success on the baseball diamond, losing both games to Johnson County CC by double-digit runs.
In game three (first of the day), the Cavaliers beat the Badgers, 18-5. JCCC scored five runs alone in the first inning through a three run homer, a solo shot, and an RBI double.
The Badgers got on the board in the fourth inning and then scored one run per inning in the last three in the seven-inning game.
Badgers’ David De Hoyos and Gerardo Prado each hit home runs in the game. De Hoyos now has 10 career home runs.
The Cavaliers won big in game four (second of the day), 14-4.
JCCC was up 1-0 after the top of the first, but AC redshirt sophomore Brandon Dickinson hit a solo homer to tie it up.
The Cavaliers would score six more runs in the next two innings and the Badgers wouldn’t respond until the fifth with two runs.
JCCC stayed ahead the entire time and ended the game in the seventh inning after Amarillo College struck out.
With only one win in the series, the Badgers lose the series. They now sit at 1-3 on the season.
Amarillo College will be back at HODGETOWN on Friday for their three-game series with Blinn College. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. CST.
