With the move to the Big 12, gone are the days of Arizona regularly playing games in Las Vegas as part of its conference tournament. But Sin City and Wildcat Nation aren’t ready to quit each other.
The UA will face Duke at Allegiant Stadium in 2027, part of a doubleheader that will be held inside the Las Vegas Raiders’ football stadium that will serve as the host of the 2028 Final Four.
Kansas and Indiana will be the other matchup at Allegiant, which has yet to host college basketball since opening in 2020. It’s also the home of UNLV football and has hosted numerous college football neutral site games, including Arizona’s 2021 opener against BYU.
The Arizona-Duke matchup will be the third in a 5-year span, as the Wildcats won at Cameron Indoor Stadium last November and the teams meet at McKale Center on Nov. 22.
Arizona is 10-2 in Las Vegas the past three seasons under coach Tommy Lloyd, winning the Pac-12 Tournament titles in 2022 and 2023. The 2024-25 season will be the first that the Wildcats don’t play at least once in Vegas since 2012.
