The Arizona State baseball team has lost four straight games to put it firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble, the most recent a 2-0 first-round Big 12 tournament loss to No. 12 seed BYU as the No. 5 seed on May 21.

The Sun Devils haven’t made the NCAA baseball tournament since 2021. Will their skid end when the NCAA bracket is announced on May 26 or will Willie Bloomquist’s team the tourney for the fourth straight year in his 4-year tenure?

Check out the latest NCAA baseball tournament projections for ASU baseball, which offer some reasons for hope and some reasons for concerns for Arizona State to make the field.

Baseball America: Arizona State makes field as No. 3 seed

This site’s projection, which was done after ASU baseball’s loss to BYU, had the Sun Devils as the No. 3 seed in the Eugene, Oregon regional along with No. 1 seed Oregon (the No. 8 national seed in the projection), No. 2 seed UTSA and No. 4 seed Columbia.

The site didn’t list Arizona State among its last four in, which is good news for Arizona State’s chances.

D1 Baseball: Sun Devils get No. 3 seed in Atlanta Regional

This projection was done before the start of the conference tournaments. It had Georgia Tech as the No. 1 seed in the regional and Tennessee the No. 2 seed. Columbia was listed as the No. 3 seed.

The site didn’t list ASU among the last four teams in the tournament in its bracket projection.

The Tennessean: Arizona State No. 3 seed in Eugene Regional

Another No. 3 seed  projection for the Sun Devils, which also came before the conference tourneys. This one put the Sun Devils at No. 11 national seed Alabama, with Duke the No. 2 seed and Missouri State the No. 4 seed.

On3.com: ASU baseball among final four teams to make NCAA tournament

This one might be concerning for Arizona State fans, as this projection was done before ASU’s loss to BYU and had the Sun Devils sneaking into the NCAA baseball tournament bracket.

Jonathan Wagner wrote of ASU’s situation at the time: “The bubble is in interesting shape entering conference tournaments. Oklahoma State’s sweep over Arizona State has the Cowboys in the field for the first time this season, while the Sun Devils are trending in the wrong direction. They are back-to-back in RPI (Oklahoma State 45, Arizona State 46), and the series to end the regular season could play a factor if they’re battling each other for a final spot.”

As for its projected regional for the Sun Devils, it put ASU in the Tallahassee Regional with No. 14 national seed Florida State as the No. 3 seed. Southern Miss was the No. 2 seed, while Kent State was the No. 4 seed.
