FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball is closing in on its first pitch at the College World Series.
The Razorbacks (48-13) are hoping for a two-week visit to Omaha, Neb. They’ll open the festivities Saturday night with a marquee showdown against SEC rival LSU in the final game of the first round.
Arkansas lost two of three games to the Tigers (48-15) during the regular season. This will be the third time the programs have met at the College World Series. LSU went 2-0 against the Razorbacks on its way to a national title in 2009 and owns a 3-0 record over Arkansas in Omaha.

These are the two highest seeds remaining, and this is the only matchup between seeded teams in the opening round. Teams playing on Friday will also play their second games on Sunday, June 15, while the four teams playing on Saturday will play again on Monday, June 16.
The finals of the 2025 College World Series are scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 21 and could run through Monday, June 23 if a decisive third game is required.
