Arkansas is the new No. 1 team in the Baseball America Top 25 poll, beating out defending national champion and SEC rival Tennessee in the latest poll released on Monday.

The Razorbacks are a dominant 30-3 overall and 11-1 in conference play after a sweep of another SEC rival, Missouri, over the weekend in Fayetteville. The Hogs capped the weekend by winning both games of a doubleheader on Sunday in 10-run-rule fashion, and Arkansas also rolled to a ridiculous 21-3 victory over Mizzou on Saturday to kick-start its weekend.

Arkansas is an equally ridiculous 22-1 at home this season after the sweep of the Tigers and will begin life as the No. 1 team in the poll on Tuesday night at home against in-state rival Arkansas State.

Texas, LSU and Tennessee fill out the next 3 spots in the poll, respectively, and Georgia sits at No. 6 followed by Ole Miss at 7th. Auburn is at No. 9, so the SEC has its usual fingerprints all over the top 10 of the new poll with 7 teams. Alabama, Vanderbilt and Oklahoma are also in the top 25, so that’s 10 SEC teams in total in the new poll.

It should be another spirited race to Omaha for the College World Series, where the SEC will look to continue its dominance this summer. Tennessee is the reigning champ, while the conference has produced 5 straight champions.
