
FAYETTEVILLE — Chelsea Dungee-Artberry, a former star guard for the Arkansas women’s basketball team, accepted a position on Alabama’s coaching staff.
Dungee was hired to be the Crimson Tide’s director of player development and recruiting operations. She joins assistant coach Tennille Adams, a key player on the Razorbacks’ 1998 Final Four team, on Alabama’s staff.
She will help Alabama assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Brooks Donald Williams with attracting talent to the Crimson Tide.
Pauline Love, who was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Alabama last year after seven seasons in the same role at Arkansas, was recently hired as associate head coach at Oklahoma.
Dungee, an All-America guard who played for former Arkansas coach Mike Neighbors from 2018-21, holds the program record with a 19.8 points per game scoring average.
She was selected fifth overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings, which matched the highest draft pick in program history. Dungee competed professionally through 2022.
Dungee began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Troy for two seasons. She left to became an assistant at Tulsa, where she spent last season helping the Golden Hurricane to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
In her role at Alabama, she provide on floor instruction along with her recruiting duties.
