Behind Enemy Lines: Previewing Ohio State vs. Michigan with Alejandro Zuniga of the Michigan Insider

The end of the 2024 college football season is nearly here, with just one more game to play before the postseason. However, Ohio State cannot rest, as the Buckeyes have the biggest game of the year on Saturday afternoon: The Game.

While this year’s Ohio State-Michigan game doesn’t have the “everything is on the line” feel of the last few contests in this rivalry, that doesn’t mean it means any less. After winning eight consecutive games in the series and 15 of the last 16, the Buckeyes have now lost three in a row to the Wolverines. This means there’s a class of Scarlet and Gray players who returned this season to, in large part, avoid going winless against their rival from the north.

In addition to pride, Ohio State has plenty on the line. A win puts the second-ranked Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game the following weekend, setting up a rematch with No. 1 Oregon. It also takes the Scarlet and Gray a step closer to the College Football Playoff and a potential national championship.

The Maize and Blue don’t have as many goals still available. Michigan followed its national championship season in 2023 with a disappointing 6-5 record so far this year, but a fourth consecutive win against Ohio State would make the season much better.
