The NBA and NCAA men’s basketball slates are loaded with action. This reality, of course, gives us plenty of betting markets to choose from when compiling our best bets list for the day.

Mississippi State vs. Auburn
The Tigers are the No. 1 team in the land, but the Bulldogs are not just any old team. Mississippi State has a 14-2 record and a top-25 offense, and Auburn will not have the services of its superstar, Johni Broome. They can probably beat the Bulldogs even without Broome in the lineup.
However, it would not be shocking to see this turn into a tight, relatively low-scoring game, as both teams have capable defenses as well as solid offenses. Take Mississippi State and the points (+7.5 at -110 via FanDuel). Are you not confident that the Bulldogs will keep it close?

Texas A&M vs. Kentucky
These two teams last met in the SEC tournament quarterfinals, a game Texas A&M controlled en route to a 97-87 victory. But that game was on a neutral court, and this time, it’s going to be on Kentucky’s home court, where the Wildcats have been 10-0 so far this season.
However, while Kentucky has one of the best offenses in the country, Texas A&M will make them work for every point. The Aggies will dominate the boards (especially offensive), which will make it easy for them to put up 80+ points on the Wildcats.
The Aggies defense will keep Kentucky’s score in the same range, making A&M and the points (+5.5) a solid play. However, we see a ton of value in Texas A&M’s ML.

Best Bets Jan. 14: NBA
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Philadelphia 76ers
In this matchup, we have one of the best teams in the Western Conference and an underperforming 76ers team. On its best day, with Joel Embiid exploding for a ton of points, Philly might be able to compete with the Thunder, but Embiid is not playing.
Oklahoma City is too good a team not to dominate an inconsistent, struggling 76ers team that is playing without its primary superstar.

Phoenix Suns vs. Atlanta Hawks
When these two teams met a few days ago (Jan. 9) in Phoenix, the Suns walked away a winner, 123-115. They’ll come into the game with identical 19-19 records, but they are on different trajectories. The Suns are trending up with four wins in their last five games. Atlanta, however, has lost four of their last five.
Atlanta has been dealing with a lot of injuries and could be without one of their top defenders, Jalen Johnson. Without him, the Hawks will have a hard time slowing Kevin Durant down unless he wants them to slow him down.

Durant has been a good, solid contributor on the scoreboard in 2025, but he has scored between 23-27 points per game. They are good, respectable days, but they aren’t what we are accustomed to seeing from him. We want more.
