BOISE, Idaho — Boise State is headed back to Las Vegas to participate in the new College Basketball Crown postseason tournament after missing the NCAA dance for the first time since 2021.
The single-elimination tournament announced its inaugural 16-team field Monday, featuring the likes of Arizona State, Butler, Cincinnati, Georgetown Nebraska and USC.
Squads from seven different conferences take to the Sin City for the first and second round of the tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The College Basketball Crown runs from March 31 to April 6.
Boise State (24-10) battles George Washington (21-12) to open the Crown in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The contest is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. MT Monday, March 31.
The Broncos were left as one of the first teams out of the NCAA Tournament during the Selection Show on Sunday. The First Four instead features North Carolina, San Diego State, Texas and Xavier. Boise State opted to bypass the NIT to play in the Crown.

The first two rounds of the debut event will air live on Fox Sports 1. The semifinal round and championship will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
Boise State won 11 of its last 14 games ahead of Selection Sunday, including Mountain West tournament victories over San Diego State and New Mexico. The Broncos fell 69-56 to Colorado State in the conference championship game Saturday, March 15.
