Cheyenne Post 6 baseball player and Cheyenne East High School student Braden Pearson has settled on the University of Utah to continue his career on the diamond. He first committed to the University of Texas but a coaching change in Austin changed Pearson’s path to college baseball.
The right-handed pitcher throws in the low to mid-90s and had a solid career with Cheyenne Post 6 with an ERA of 2.19. That blistering fastball helped Pearson to strike out 187 hitters in 137 and third innings of work in his duration at the American Legion level. He’s only walked 74 batters and is 18-6 throughout 3 seasons. In 2024, his ERA was 1.94
Pearson also patrols the outfield for the Sixers and has been a monster at the plate with a whopping 14 triples in 2024. Overall in his Legion career, he is hitting .343 with 103 runs batted in.
Utah is a member of the Big 12 and went 33-22 in their last season of Pac-12 baseball in 2024.
