See where the Breslin Center ranked among the top arena atmospheres in all of college basketball
The home of the Spartans has been recently named as one of the best arena atmospheres in all of college basketball.
College Basketball Uncharted — a popular social media account — posted its list of top college basketball arena atmospheres and to no surprise the Breslin Center was near the top of the list. This particular list had the Breslin Center coming in at No. 6 in the country. It was the second-highest ranked venue from the Big Ten behind only Purdue’s Mackey Arena.
Here is the complete top 10 from College Basketball Uncharted:
1. Allen Fieldhouse – Kansas
2. Cameron Indoor – Duke
3. McCarthy Athletic Center – Gonzaga
4. Mackey Arena – Purdue
5. Hilton Coliseum – Iowa State
6. Breslin Center – Michigan State
7. Assembly Hall – Indiana
8. Rupp Arena – Kentucky
9. McKale Center – Arizona
10. Mariott Center – BYU
From my perspective, I really can’t argue with where the Breslin Center landed in these rankings. Some may argue that the Breslin Center is the top arena experience from the Big Ten, but I too would put Mackey Arena ahead. I’m actually surprised the Breslin Center got the nod over Indiana’s Assembly Hall since there is so much history and love college basketball around that program.
