  • Pistons’ Cade Cunningham: Ties season high with 40 points

    Rotowire

    Jan 31, 2025

Cunningham ended with 40 points (17-30 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Friday’s 117-102 victory over the Mavericks.

In his first game since being named an All-Star, Cunningham tied a season-high figure with 40 points Friday to lead the Pistons. Over his last seven contests, the star floor general has averaged 30.0 points, 8.6 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.6 three-pointers in 35.6 minutes per game. However, Cunningham is averaging 5.4 turnovers during this period, so fantasy managers in nine-category leagues will want to see him improve in this area going forward.

    Rotowire

    Jan 4, 2025

Cunningham had 40 points (15-29 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and one steal over 38 minutes during Saturday’s 119-105 win over the Timberwolves.

Even though Anthony Edwards will probably grab all the headlines thanks to his 53-point performance in this loss, there’s no question Cunningham delivered an outstanding performance in his own right. Even though the star floor general has been battling some lingering soreness in his knee in recent days, he didn’t look affected by any sort of injury given how dominant he was. This was Cunningham’s best scoring output of the entire campaign and just the fifth time he scored more than 30 points in 2024-25.
