Following the Footsteps: Charles Woodson Jr. Celebrates Scholarship Offers

Woodson Jr. has recently received a lot of buzz in the college football recruiting arena. The sophomore standout at Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida, has received his first scholarship offers from the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, Syracuse Orange, and, most recently, the Ole Miss Rebels.

Woodso, who stands 5’11” and 155 pounds, shines as a safety and wide receiver. In his sophomore season, he recorded 53 tackles, two pass breakups, one interception, and a fumble recovery, helping Lake Nona to a 7-4 record and a place in the Florida 7A playoffs.

Lake Nons head coach David Aubrey stated, per On3, “Charles embodies the qualities every coach looks for in a standout player.”

The Syracuse proposal seems compelling to Woodson. The Orange are coming off a 10-win season, their first under head coach Fran Brown.

“It is very exciting getting an offer from Syracuse a P4 school,” Woodson said. “And it feels crazy that they offered me. Looking at the season they just had it’s crazy. What excites me the most is just hearing about their culture and the way they do things there.”

Michigan’s interest in Woodson has been deemed as “cool,” with no offer given, as the Wolverines continue to build their future classes in Ann Arbor following Sherrone Moore’s first season as head coach.

As Woodson’s high school career proceeds, with plenty of time to enhance his size and strength, he is expected to receive additional scholarship offers, establishing his standing as a vibrant talent in the 2027 recruiting class.
