City leaders to discuss safety measures for college football playoff game in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – We’re expected to learn more about plans to keep the public safe leading up to and during college football’s premier event in Atlanta next week.

Mayor Andre Dickens, along with various city and state leaders, will hold a news conference Tuesday to discuss keeping the peace during the upcoming College Football Playoff National Championship game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (13-2) will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (14-1) for the championship title on Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Ohio State enters the game as an eight-point favorite.

The city of Atlanta is already hanging up banners to make people aware that Atlanta is hosting the big game.

Tuesday’s news conference on security measures is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Mercedes-Benz.
